Brady Perleberg threw a gem on Thursday for Brandon-Evansville, allowing zero runs and besting Upsala/Swanville by a score of 1-0.  Perleberg ran his record to 4-0 with the win, pitching all seven innings, giving up just three hits, walking one and striking out three batters.

B-E collected four hits on the day with Riley Perleberg and Brady Perleberg each contributing two hits.

“This was an old-fashioned pitchers’ duel that was fun to witness,” commented Head Coach Brian Perleberg of the Chargers.  “Both Perleberg and Cooper Thieschafer were on top of their game and very efficient.  Neither allowed the hitters to time them up and their teammates played rock solid defense behind them with only one error the entire game.”

Thieschafer (6IP, 6K, 1R, 4H) took the loss for Upsala/Swanville.

“I’m extremely proud of how our kids responded after a tough loss on Tuesday night and it was nice to finally put it all together on the defensive side of things, but we still have plenty to work on, especially offensive execution,” noted Coach Perleberg.  “Upsala/Swanville is a fundamentally sound team with very few weaknesses which is evident by the final score.  They will certainly be one of the top teams to beat in the upcoming Section 6A post season tournament.”

Next action for Brandon-Evansville will be on Tuesday against Ottertail Central.
