Garrett Nelson delivered a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to put Ottertail Central into a 1-1 tie with Barnesville on Thursday, setting up game inning walk-off heroics for Lane Dilly who came through with an eighth-inning RBI double that scored Gavin Pausch (BB, SB) with the winning run.

Pausch (8IP, 7H, 1R, 3K) was the winning pitcher and Jay Tschumperlin (7.1IP, 6H, 2R, 3K, 1BB) was the hard-luck loser on the mound.  The Bulldogs played errorless ball in the field.

Hunter Haugen, Soren Floden, Pausch, Dilly, Nelson and Jayden Harig each contributed one hit to lead OTC.  Carson Hagen went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Barnesville.

“We started off a little slow, but Barnesville made a few really nice defensive plays to keep us at bay, too,” stated OTC Head Coach Ryan Hendrickson.  “Barnesville had a nice sliding catch in left field to take a double away and also turned two double plays to change the game.  Ultimately, Pausch threw another great game for us.  Nelly hit an absolute bomb to tie the game in the seventh and Pausch and Dilly got it done in the eighth.”

On the season Pausch has pitched 39 innings in six starts, giving up only 3 earned runs for an ERA of 0.54.
