Otter Girls Win Pre-Section Meet in Bemidji

The Fergus Falls girls’ golf team won the Pre-Section meet on Wednesday at Bemidji Town and Country Club with a score of 337.  Perham was second with a 361 and East Grand Forks finished third with a 365.  They were followed by Crookston and Park Rapids Area at 387, Badger-Greenbush-Middle River at 397, Fosston 415, Roseau 416, Fertile-Beltrami 424 and Thief River Falls 477.

Annika Jyrkas led the Otters with a 78, finishing as runner-up.  Anna Eckmann of Park Rapids was the medalist with a 72.  Third place went to Mallory Belka of Perham with an 80.  Ellia Soydara of the Otters was fourth with an 83 and Ella Mayer tied for fifth place with an 87.  Annie Mayer finished in a three-way tie for seventh place, Aubry Zimmerman of Perham was eleventh with a 91 and Olivia Jurgens of Fergus Falls shot a 93, good for twelfth place.  Lexi Metcalf fired a 99 to round out the scoring.

“Today was windy and the course was playing difficult,” said Head Coach Ben Jurgens of the Otters.  “The girls really did a nice job of staying patient and playing their best golf of the season.”
