Browerville scored twice in the first inning and added two more runs in the second to build an early 4-0 lead against Brandon-Evansville on Tuesday.  The Tigers allowed single runs in the fourth and seventh to the Chargers, but were able to hold on for a 4-2 victory.

Parker Duncan (7IP, 5H, 2R, 4K) was the winning pitcher.  Nate Benning led Browerville at the plate with two hits in three at bats.  The Tigers were perfect in the field.

Titus Fuller, Kian Gackle, Riley Perleberg, Hunter Koep, Dezmond White and Brady Perleberg all had one hit to lead B-E.

“Today we just didn’t do the little things it takes to win a close ballgame,” said Head Coach Brian Perleberg of the Chargers.  “Statistically, it was very even when you look at the hits and errors, but they did a better job of executing than we did and that’s pretty much what it came down to.”

Perleberg continued, “After a rocky start I was very happy to see relief pitchers Tyler Bitzan and Dezmond White throw the way they did.  For them to come in and give us four innings of shutout relief kept us in the game and is something positive we can carry into the remainder of the season.”

Senior Titus Fuller will have season-ending shoulder surgery on Wednesday, so this game was the final game of his varsity career.

“His work ethic, selflessness, and leadership, are second to none and he’s the type of player who only comes along once in a great while,” added Coach Perleberg.  “His presence on the field will surely be missed and I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to coach this young man.”
