The Hillcrest baseball team traveled to play St. John’s Prep on Monday, falling to the Johnnies by the score of 15-2.  “We were fortunate to have the opportunity to play on the campus of St. John’s University,” said Head coach Dave Weinrich.  “It is an all turf baseball field which was a lot of fun for our guys.”

Zayne Weinrich, Ethan Swedberg and Evan Lindgren each had a hit for the Comets.

“St. John’s had a very good left-handed pitcher that made things difficult for us,” added Coach Weinrich.  “We had some good at bats and just need to string more hits together.  Defensively, we just need to make the plays when we have the opportunity.  Just too many errors and inability to make big plays hurt us.”

The Comets are scheduled to host Lake Park-Audubon at 4:00pm Tuesday at American Legion Field at DeLagoon Park in Fergus Falls.
