The Fergus Falls Boys golf team competed in a Central Lakes Conference event on Monday hosted by Alexandria.  The boys teed it up from the black tees at Alexandria Golf Club. The young Otter team finished in 5th place as a team, a little bit of a letdown compared to how they have been playing.

Alexandria won the team competition shooting a 301 on their home course.  Sartell was in 2nd with a 314, Brainerd was next with a 319, and Willmar shot a 323 besting the Otters by 7 (330).

The Otters were led by Junior, Charlie Fuder, who had an impressive round of 78 to finish in solo 8th.  "I'm really proud of Charlie and the way he finished.  He got himself over a hump and I'm confident he'll be in the 70's more often than not during the rest of this busy season" said coach Matt McGovern.

Sophomores Ryan Nelson and Riley McGovern each contributed with scores of 83 while sophomore Gavin Goepferd rounded out the scoring with an 86.

Sophomore Sam Dirkman finished with an 89 and ninth grader Adam Kennedy shot a 92.

The Otters will host a CLC event at Pebble Lake Golf Club this Wednesday at 4pm.
