Brandon-Evansville swept Ortonville in a softball double header on Monday in Brandon, winning 18-3 in 4 innings and 10-2 in 6 innings.  Ortonville had a rough day in the field, committing 8 errors in the opener and 3more in game two.

“We started out a little slow in game one, but were able to lock it in and find our groove after the first inning,” stated B-E Head Coach Kasi Sieling.  “I was happy to see the girls make adjustments in the box and hit the ball hard to move runners around.  Anytime we can see the majority of our lineup getting on base and hitting the ball hard, it always makes for a fun game.  Taylin Kramer (4IP, 6H, 3R, 0ER, 1BB, 8K) threw a solid game and her defense played clean behind her after the first inning.”

Kylee Dingwall (3-4m RBI, 3R), Maddie Stich (2-3, RBI, 2R), Kiley Lund (1-2, 3RBI, 2R), Kendra Klimek (1-2, RBI, 2R), Claire Boesl (1-2, 2R), Kaytlyn Pattrin (1-2, 2R) and Sydney Schaefer (1-4, R, RBI) were the hitting leaders for the Chargers.

Boesl (4IP, 0H, 1BB, 4K) and Pattrin (2IP, 0H, 1BB, 1K) combined on a six-inning no-hitter.  The Chargers were led at the plate by Lund (3-3, 2RBI, 2R), Dingwall (2-4, 2B, RBI, R), Pattrin (2-3, RBI, 2R), Schaefer (1-4, 3B, 2RBI, R), Hallie Richter (1-2, RBI, R) and Kayla Bitzan-Anderson (1-1, R).

“This was a very solid, all-around team win and I’m very happy with the way the girls played,” said Sieling.  “We were able to play sound defense between a great pitching performance from Claire and Kaytlyn.  Sydney made an outstanding catch in the outfield.  Offensively, we were able to find holes and move girls around.  It was great to be able to get all of our players opportunities in this game and have some fun playing at home with a great crowd.”
