Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley won both games in a double header against Brandon-Evansville on Friday at Minnewaska Area High School in Glenwood.  The Wolverines posted wins of 13-0 and 17-4.

B-E managed only two hits in the first game as Maddie Stich and Taylin Kramer both went 1-for-2 at the plate.

“We struggled to really find any sort of groove in the first game and CGB took advantage of everything we gave them,” reported B-E Head Coach Kasi Sieling.  “They hit the ball well and we just weren’t able to make plays to get out of innings.  Offensively, we hit the ball hard, but right at players and couldn’t get anything going.”

In game two the Chargers were led by Kylee Dingwall (2-3, R), Claire Boesl (1-3, RBI, R, 2B), Hallie Richter (1-1, RBI), Taylin Kramer (1-3, RBI, R), Maddie Stich (1-2, R), Sydney Schaefer (1-3) and Sophie Koep (1-3).

“We started out strong in this game, but had a tough time staying mentally focused and driving in the fourth inning,” noted Coach Sieling.  “CGB is a hard hitting team and we really struggled to make plays and gave them way too many extra opportunities.  We are a young team and played these games without a senior on the field and our inexperience showed, but I’m confident these players will learn from these games and continue to push themselves to get better every day.”
