Fergus Falls won the Park Rapids Girls’ Golf Invitational on Tuesday with a 340 score.  Second place went to Moorhead 362, followed by Park Raids 382, Roseau 422, Crookston 422 and East Grand Forks 425.

“This was a great meet for us,” commented Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens. “We wanted to play well today on the golf course where we play our sub sections and we did just that.  We were led today by very solid play from Annika Jyrkas (78) and Ellia Soydara 80.  Annika has been playing very consistent this year and Ellia has been using her course management to get down to the scores we all knew she had in her which is very exciting.  Ella and Annie Mayer both posted solid rounds of 91, Lexi Metcalf shot 95 and is getting close to breaking out of the nineties and Olivia Jurgens fired a 105 improving her score by 5 strokes from her last meet.”

“I think we are focused on what we want to do prior to going out and playing,” added Coach Jurgens.  “We are just trying to improve each week leading up to sections.  The girls have been fun to watch compete.”

Individually, Anna Eckmann of Park Rapids was the individual medalist with a 77 and Jyrkas came in second with her 78.  Soydara’s 80 was good for third place.
