The Alexandria girls’ golf team traveled to Sartell on Monday to play in their fourth Central Lakes Conference Meet of the season at Blackberry Ridge Golf Club.  There was a brief delay due to thunderstorms in the area, but once they hit the course the lady Cards posted a winning score of 316, easily outdistancing runner-up Brainerd with 367.  They were followed by Willmar 381, St. Cloud 406, Sartell 410 and Sauk Rapids-Rice 460.

“This is a golf course we have had some trouble scoring well on in the past,” reported Alexandria Head Coach Tim Zupfer.  “Part of that was due to course management and part of it had to do with mental preparation.  We handled both of those obstacles much better and posted a very good team score.  Our 316 ties the second lowest team score so far this season.  Individually, we placed all six players in the top ten!”

Hannah Boraas claimed medalist honors with a 74 and Cora Larson was runner-up with a 77.  Lauren Rebrovich finished third with an 80 and Aisling O’Connor was sixth with an 85.  Rounding out the top ten were Ellie Sticha with a 90, tied for eighth place, and Rachel Bowen with a 91, tied for tenth.

The lady Cards continue their busy week with meets at St. Cloud Country Club on Thursday and at Rich Springs Golf Club on Friday.
