Spartans Lose Twice in Willmar

Ridgewater won 18-1 in game one and 8-2 in game two on Saturday in Willmar, sweeping the M State baseball team.  The two teams will have another double header on Sunday in Fergus Falls to end their season.

In the first game, Daniel Buendorf went 2-for-2 at the plate.  Ty Kargar was 1-for-2 with a double and a run batted in and Christian Norby scored the only Spartan run.  Ridgewater exploded for 11 second inning runs to take an early lead.  Reece Schwirtz struck out 11 batters in five innings to earn the win for the Warriors.

In game two, Brad Bickmann (4IP, 4H, 2R, 5K) was the winning pitcher and Sam Lenarz (3IP) earned the save.  Bickmann led Ridgewater at the plate with 3 hits in 4 at bats.  The Spartans were led by Buendorf, Noah Aufdengarten, Jackson Martin and Kargar with one hit each.  Kargar and Martin each had a double.  Buendorf and Martin each drove in a run and the runs were scored by Buendorf and Kargar.
