Rothsay played three games in Barnesville on Saturday, beating the Trojans, 8-3, losing to Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal 13-0 and recording an 11-6 win over East Grand Forks.  “I was so proud of our girls today,” said Rothsay Head Coach Anita Heier.  “They played with lots of energy and enthusiasm the entire day and came away with a couple of nice wins.  We are definitely heading in the right direction with our program.”

The Tigers scored four runs in the top of the first inning of their win over Barnesville and then added four more in the top of the second to take an early 8-0 lead.  Barnesville scored two in the fourth and one in the sixth.  “Katie Reber (7IP, 2H, 5K) pitched a great game and our players made some big defensive plays throughout the game to keep Barnesville’s aggressive baserunners off base,” said Heier.  Reber (2H, 2B, 3RBI) and Abby Honer (2H, RBI) were the hitting leaders for Rothsay.

In their second game of the day, Rothsay gave up ten runs to the Titans in the fourth inning and Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal only allowed 3 hits in the game with Kinsey Heier, Savannah Sullivan and Abby Honer collecting one hit each.

Rothsay scored four first inning runs and three second inning runs to open up a 7-0 lead over East Grand Forks in their final game of the day.  They increased their lead to 10-0 with a single run in the third and two more in the fourth.  The Greenwave scored five times in the fifth to cut the lead to 10-5 and each team added one more run in the seventh.  Reber (5IP, 0H, 4K) was impressive in the circle once again and Honer, Reber, Kenadi Carlsrud and Madison Tillman had one hit apiece.
