Buccaneers Win Pair of 5-2 Games Against Hancock

Border West used a four run third inning in game one and five run sixth inning in game two on Thursday to record a pair of 5-2 Pheasant Conference victories over the Hancock Owls.

In the opener, Hancock took a 2-0 lead with single runs in the third and fourth inning, however, Border West pushed across five sixth inning runs to claim a 5-2 win.  Hitting leaders were Davin Rose (2-4, 2B, SB, RBI, R) and Dain Schroeder (2-3, SB).  Rose (7IP, 9H, 5ER, 2K, 2BB) went the distance on the mound, taking the loss.

Hudson Ver Steeg (5IP, 5R, 7H, 5K) was on the mound in game two and took the loss for the Owls.  Brayden DeSmith led Hancock at the plate, going 2-for-4.  The Owls stole six bases during the game, led by Dain Schroeder who swiped 3 bags.
