Hancock and Ortonville squared off in a Pheasant Conference baseball double header on Monday with the Trojans winning both ends by scores of 3-1 and 4-3.

In the first game, Ortonville scored single runs in the first and third innings to build an early 2-0 lead over the Owls.  Hancock put one run on the board in the sixth to cut the Trojans lead in half, however, Ortonville got the run back in the top of the seventh to finish with a 3-1 victory.

Josh Mueller was the winning pitcher for Ortonville, surrendering one run on six hits over seven innings, striking out ten and walking one.  The defense backed him up with errorless ball in the field.  Carter Powell led Ortonville with 3 hits in 4 at bats.

Davin Rose (5IP, 8H, 2R, 6K, 0BB) pitched well but took the loss for the Owls.  Top hitters were Dain Schroeder and Brayden DeSmith with two hits apiece.

In game two, Ortonville scored twice in each of the first two innings to build a 4-0 lead.  Hancock chipped away at the lead with single runs in the fourth sixth and seventh but came up one short.  Davin Rose and Hudson Ver Steeg each had two hits to lead the Owls at the plate.

Dru Boots led Ortonville with two hits in three at bats.
