Schmidt Hurls Perfect Game to Lead Perham to Sweep of Hawley

The Perham High School baseball team posted a pair of wins on Thursday, beating Hawley 11-1 and 11-0 with Blaiz Schmidt (5IP, 0H, 0R, 5K, 0BB) throwing a perfect game in the second game of the double header.

In game one the Yellowjackets put eight runs on the board in the fourth inning to build a big lead on the way to the win.  Gamble Bye, Chas Melvin, Logan Pulju, Gage Germolus and Mason Schepper each drove in runs during the inning.  Austin Aanenson had a run-scoring double and Rian Solberg drove in another run with a single. Perham collected 12 hits in the game.  Germolus (5IP, 1H, 1R, 9K, 1BB) was the winning pitcher for Perham.

Perham had 11 hits in the second game with Ben Shumansky and Chas Melvin contributing 3 hits apiece.
