The Rothsay softball team swept a double header from Ortonville, winning 14-1 and 21-11 on Wednesday afternoon.

“It was refreshing to finally get the opportunity to play a game,” said Rothsay Head Coach Anita Heier. “The girls were anxious and excited to get on the field. We jumped out to an early lead in the first game and played solid defense throughout. We struggled to get going in game two as we had four defensive errors in the first two innings and found ourselves down 8-1. It was great to see them battle back and take control late in the game. It was a fun way to start the season.”

Eli Meyer had two hits and 3 RBI in the first game and Kenadi Carlsrud had two hits, including a double.  Katie Reber (5IP, 2H, 3BB, 6K) was the winning pitcher.

Savannah Sullivan was the hitting hero in game two with 2 hits, including a triple, and seven runs batted in.  Carlsrud had two hits and one RBI and Kinsey Heier added two hits and a RBI.
