Hancock Girls Basketball Awards

The Hancock Owls celebrated their state championship season with their end of the season awards banquet this past week.  The Owls (30-1) finished their season on a 17 game winning streak, beating Minneota, 54-43, in the Class A State title game at Williams Arena on Saturday, March 19.

Team Awards were presented to Kaitlyn Rohloff (Offensive Player of the Year), Karleigh Rohloff (Defensive Player of the Year), Carlee Hanson (MVP), Brooke VerSteeg (Most Improved) and Tori Pahl (Owl Pride – Hustle, Positive Attitude).

All-Conference honors went to Kaitlyn Rohloff, Carlee Hanson, Karleigh Rohloff, Misti Zempel and Kaitlyn Staples, with Tori Pahl receiving All-Conference Honorable Mention.

Carlee Hanson, Rylee Hanson and Tori Pahl were all named to the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association Academic All-State team, as the Owls received the Team Academic All-State Gold Award.  Carlee Hanson was also a participant in the MGBCA All-State Team/All-Star Series.

Carlee Hanson (1,330) and Rylee Hanson (1,005) both became members of the 1000 point club during the season.
