Owls Advance to Class A Semifinals with Solid Win Over Nevis

The Hancock Owls made 9-of-17 (53%) 3-pointers on Thursday night in their 73-38 win over Nevis in the Class A Girls Basketball State Tournament at Maturi Pavilion on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

Carlee Hanson made 5-of-10 3’s and all four of her free throws as she led the Owls with 29 points and 7 steals.  Rylee Hanson was 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and had 1 points and 3 steals.  Kaitlyn Rohloff added 13 points and 4 assists, and Karleigh Rohloff had 10 points.  Brooke VerSteeg had a team high 6 rebounds.

Nevis was led by Ava Isaacson (14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists) and Addison Lindow (12 points, 6 rebounds).  Mya Stacey had a team high 3 assists.

Hancock (28-1) will now face Mayer Lutheran at 2:00pm Friday in a Class A semifinal contest at Williams Arena.

Mayer Lutheran advanced to the semifinals with a 56-33 win over United Christian Academy on Thursday.
