Jaguars Eliminate Owls in South Sub-Section 6A Championship Game

Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa built a 37-24 halftime lead over Hancock on Tuesday night at Minnewaska Area High School in Glenwood.  The Jaguars then outscored the Owls 34-20 in the second half to cruise to a 71-4 victory in the Section 6A South Sub-Section title game.  BBE will advance to the Section 6A championship game at 7:00pm Friday in Fergus Falls, facing the New York Mills Eagles.

Ashton Dingmann had 28 points and Kaden Pieper scored 23 to lead the Jags.  Luke Dingmann was also in double figures with a dozen.  The Jaguars shot 54% (29-54) from the field.

Hancock made just 17-of-50 (34%) shots in the game.  Matt Thompson (16 points, 14 rebounds) had a double-double and added 3 assists.   Sebastian Felix had 12 points and Zachary Koehl finished with 10 points.  Jackson Koehl and Felix had 4 and 3 steals, respectively and Luke Joos dished out 3 assists.

Hancock ends the season with a record of 23-6.

BBE (25-4) avenged a 57-55 loss to Hancock earlier this month.
