Hancock’s Matt Thompson set a single season rebound record on Thursday night, breaking his own record of 369 that he set in his sophomore season.  With his 15 rebounds in the Owls 72-55 win over Brandon-Evansville his record stands at 375 boards.  Thompson also had a game high 28 points in the victory.  The Owls shot 49% (28/57) from the field and the Chargers shot 38% (19/50).

Jackson Koehl was also in double digits with a dozen points, while adding 5 assists.  Thompson dished out 4 assists and Zachary Koehl had 7 rebounds and 8 points.

"We got dominated on the boards and I thought our defense struggled at times," said B-E Head Coach Trent Hintermeister. "Give Hancock credit, they played well. Tonight was one of those nights we fought all night and just couldn't make shots when we really needed them. "

Leaders for Brandon-Evansville were Dezmond White and Titus Fuller with 16 points apiece.  Tyler Bitzan added 9 points.

"I want to say thanks to our two seniors, Tyler Bitzan and Titus Fuller," added Coach Hintermeister. "My appreciation for them goes beyond anything I could put into words. They are two of the best young men I have had the privilege of coaching. These two guys made everyone around them better basketball players, but even more importantly better people. Tyler and Titus will be tremendously missed by their teammates, coaches, and fans."

Hancock will now face Ashby at 2:45pm Saturday at Minnewaska Area High School in Glenwood.  Ashby was a 49-41 winner over Parkers Prairie.
