The Fergus Falls Otters battled back from a twenty point deficit, pulling to within one point with under ten minutes to play on Saturday, however, the Cardinals had a run that put them back in front by double digits as they withstood the comeback try to record a 64-53 win.
Grayson Grove had a big day for the Cardinals with 14 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists. Miles Sanstead added 13 points and a team high 5 assists. Erik Hedstrom scored 13 and Charlie Thompson contributed 10. Alexandria won the rebounding battle 31-23.
The Otters were paced by Kaden Conklin with 26 points. Henry Bethel was also in double digits with 11. Jaydon Manteufel added 6 points and 6 rebounds. Elliot Pribbenow finished with 9 points and 4 assists and Luke Newman had 4 steals and 3 assists.
Alexandria improved to 21-5 on the season. The Cardinals will host Little Falls in their first round playoff game in Section 8AAA on Tuesday night.
Fergus Falls is 9-17 entering the post season.
