Cardinals Will be Well Represented on Day Two of State Swimming and Diving Meet

Alexandria has qualified swimmers in the finals in 8 different events and have qualified swimmers for the consolation finals in 5 other events after day one of the Class A State Swimming and Diving Meet at the U of M.  In addition, two Cardinal divers made in through the preliminary round of the competition and will compete on Saturday.

The Fergus Falls 400 freestyle relay team of Christian Reed, Tyler Kubela, Logan Rott and Micah Zosel did not qualify to swim on day two of the event.  They were nineteenth with a time of 3:39.41.

In the 50 freestyle, Perham/New York Mills freshman Blake Swenson just missed qualifying for the consolation finals with a 17th place finish and a time of 23.06 seconds.

Here are the Alexandria qualifiers, listed by event.  The top 8 in each event will swim in the championship finals on Saturday, while the ninth through sixteenth place qualifiers will compete in the consolation finals.
