The Hancock Owls held a slim 21-20 halftime lead against Ashby on Tuesday night, but they took control of the game in the second half as they outscored the Arrows 39-27 over the final 18 minutes to take a 60-47 victory.

Matt Thompson continued his amazing season with another double-double (23 points, 12 rebounds).  Hudson VerSteeg scored 14, Chase Evink had 10 and Sebastian Felix finished with 9 points.  Zachary Koehl led the Owls with 4 assists and Thompson had a team high 4 steals.

Ashby was led by Jacob Cook’s 21 points.  Torin Olson contributed 13, including three 3’s.  Cook completed his double-double with 13 rebounds.   Ashby shot just 31% from the field.

"We were able to get stops in the first half but didn't take care of the ball well enough to cash in," stated Ashby Head Coach John Holsten.  "Early in the second half our defense of the dribble drive wasn't at a high enough level."

Hancock (20-5) will host Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa on Friday night.

Ashby (20-3) will host KMS on Thursday and Henning on Friday.
