Henry Bethel led four Fergus Falls players in double figures on Tuesday night as the Otters snapped a four game losing skid with a 67-50 win over the Willmar Cardinals. Bethel scored 19 of his game high 25 points in the first half, hitting all four of his 3-pointers in that half. He went 7-for-8 from the free throw line as the Otters finished the night making 16-of-21 foul shots, including 12-of-13 in the second half.
Luke Newman scored 18 points, snagged 5 rebounds and dished out 4 assists for the Otters. Kaden Conklin had 10 points and 5 rebounds, and Elliot Pribbenow scored 10 points. Erik Hanson and Owen Hanson added 4 rebounds each and Bethel also had 4 boards.
Fergus Falls led 38-25 at the half, extended their lead to 21 at one point in the second half and weathered a second half comeback attempt by Willmar that saw the Otters lead cut to 9 points.
Blake Schoolmeester was the only Willmar player to reach double digits with 10 points. Willmar struggled with their shooting throughout the game.
Fergus Falls (9-14) has three more games on the schedule this week, including a makeup game at Sauk Rapids-Rice at six o’clock on Wednesday night. They will host Rocori on Friday night and Alexandria at 1:30pm Saturday.
