DGF and Hawley had a high scoring Heart O’ Lakes Conference boys’ basketball battle on Tuesday night in Glyndon with the Rebels coming out on top, 87-80 in overtime.  Owen Leach poured in 29 points to lead the victors.

“It’s never fun to lose, but our kids battled all night long,” said Hawley Head Coach Nathan Stoa.  “I’m very proud of the way that we bounced back after a disappointing road trip last night.  Owen Leach is a walking bucket, but I thought Brady Gratton made him work harder to get his number than any I’ve seen on film this year.  He gave us a chance.  We were just a couple overtime possessions short.”

Logan Bitker and Kaden Altobelli joined Leach in double digits with 19 and 10 points, respectively.

Brevin Stoa led Hawley with 28 and Sam Senske scored 22.  Mason Gratton ended up with 15 and Hayden Grani chipped in with 9 points.

DGF (19-4) is on a ten game winning streak as they prepare to end their regular season schedule at home against Pelican Rapids at 1:30pm Saturday.

Hawley (15-7) will close out their regular season on Friday night at home against Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal.
