“We found a way to grind out a road win,” stated Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “As well as we played offensively on Friday night, we struggled that much today. Verndale’s defense had a lot to do with that. The game didn’t have a lot of flow as both teams were whistled for a lot of fouls. Our lone senior, Tanner Arndt, held us together today.”
Arndt had a game high 25 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and led the team with 6 assists. Kale Misegades was also in double figures with 11 points. He added 6 rebounds. Lane Dilly was the top rebounder with 11 and Mason Hammer finished with 8 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists.
The win was the fourth in a row for the Hornets and puts them at 20-4 on the season. They will travel to Twin Valley to face Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal on Tuesday.
Verndale (12-10) will host Wadena-Deer Creek on Monday night.
