Trojans Top Cowboys in HOL Battle

Barnesville hosted Breckenridge in a Heart O’ Lakes Conference boys’ basketball game on Thursday night with the Trojans handing the Cowboys a 66-49 loss.  Barnesville finished the first half on a 17-9 run to take a 29-26 lead at the half.  The Trojans made 49% (25-51) of their field goal attempts and hit 14-of-21 free throw opportunities.

The Trojans increased their lead to twenty points at 55-35 in the second half.  They were led by 16 points from Kaden Zenzen and 13 from Tate Inniger who made 5-of-6 free throws down the stretch to help preserve the lead and the win.  Zenzen added 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 steals and a pair of blocked shots, while Inniger had 8 rebounds and 3 steals.  Wyatt Suter contributed 8 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.

Jack Johnson led Breckenridge with a game high 20 points and Dallen Ernst finished with 10.

Breckenridge (4-16) will play at Pelican Rapids on Friday night.

Barnesville (13-8) has a home game Friday with New York Mills.
