The Henning boys’ basketball team built a 37-24 halftime lead in Menahga on Wednesday night and went on to record a 77-57 win over the Braves.  Henning made 48% (27-56) of their field goal attempts and connected on 38% (10-26) of their shots from beyond the arc.  They also converted 13-of-19 free throws.

“Menahga is a talented team offensively and we struggled for stretches getting consistent defensive stops,” said Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “But, our guys competed hard and stretched the lead to 20+ in the second half. We had 23 assists on our 27 made field goals which was great to see. The ball really moved well for us on the offensive end.”

Tyson Misegades (23 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds), Mason Hammer (21 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, 6 steals) and Kale Misegades (10 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds, 3 steals) were the leaders for the Hornets.  Tanner Arndt added 8 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.

Henning (18-4) will host Underwood on Friday night and has a 3:30pm contest at Verndale on Saturday.

Menahga (11-11) will host Frazee on Thursday night.
