“After a bit of a sluggish start, we made a nice run before the half,” said Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “WDC should get a lot of credit; they wouldn’t go away. Even though we were a little short-handed playing without Calvin Stueve, our guys stuck with it and found a way.”
Mason Hammer had a big night for the Hornets, scoring 24 points on 11-of-17 shooting and grabbing 11 rebounds to complete his double-double. Lane Dilly provided a spark off the bench, scoring 9 points and securing a team high 12 rebounds. Tanner Arndt made 5-of-7 field goal attempts, scoring 18 points, while adding 5 assists and 6 rebounds. Tyson Misegades was also in double digits with 12 points. He also led the team with 6 assists and 5 steals.
Henning shot 50% (29-58) from the floor and made 9-of-12 free throws. Henning had just one turnover at halftime but finished with ten for the game. The Hornets only committed six fouls.
Wadena-Deer Creek was led by 14 points from Teshe Loer. Payton Rondestvedt and Peyton Church each scored 11.
Henning (16-1, 9-1 PRC) has a rematch with New York Mills, the only team that has beaten them, on Tuesday night on the Eagle home court.
