The Alexandria Cardinals went down to face off against the Willmar Cardinals in an important section game Tuesday night. Despite a disappointing first period performance that put the Alexandria Cardinals down 3 – 0, they were able to score the next 8 goals to win the game 8-3.
Senior Brycen Berg led the way for Alexandria with 3 goals while Junior Nick Peterson added 2. Seniors Brennan Lattimer and Josiah Gronholz along with junior Jack Breitzman each added a goal.
The Alexandria Cardinals outshot Willmar 58 – 21 in the contest. Senior Gabe Evink made the start in goal stopping 18 of 21 shots faced.
