The West Central Area Knights started with a 7-3 lead and despite a close game all the way, never relinquished the lead.  The Knights led 27-25 at the half and extended their biggest lead to 47-36 en route to a 58-53 win over the Wheaton-Herman-Norcross Warriors on their home floor.

"We are pleased to get the win," said Knights Coach Kraig Hunter. "After several school cancellations, we haven't played a game in nine days and we've only practiced one day for an hour and yesterday for two hours in the last week.  So we were a bit rusty, but the kids played very hard.  We also shot the three well tonight hitting 40%.  They zoned us once each half and we were able to extend our lead both times vs their zone to extend our lead.  We had pretty good poise and took care of the ball well at the end of the game vs. their pressure.  Lastly, as we've done all year, it was a total team effort with every player seeing the floor making contributions at key moments throughout the game."

The Knights made 20-46 from the field for 44% and held the Warriors to 18-53 for 34%.  The Knights made 8-20 threes for 40% and the Warriors only hit 4-22 for 18%.  From the free throw line the Knights were 10-19 and the Warriors 13-16.  The Knights held a slight edge in turnovers with 8 to the Warriors 10 while the Warriors held a slight edge 37-33 on the boards.

Cam Anderson led the Knights with 16 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and took a charge.  Cole Anderson recorded a double, double with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and took two charges.  Hunter stated, "Cole was huge tonight. Both Ryder Staples and Jake Strunk were in foul trouble most of the night forcing us to play a small line up and Cole played big for us in their absence."

Staples added 9 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Mitch Dewey also played big off the bench with 7 points, 4 rebounds, a steal, and 3 deflections. Nas Dotts added 5 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals and led the team with 4 assists. Strunk had 3 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal; Bryce Kjesbo added 3 points and 3 rebounds and Isaac Kreft added 2 points.

Dylan Bainbridge led the Warriors with 21 points,  Andrew Walker-Hanneman had 12, Clint Determan had 8, Zach Braaten 6, and Hunter Rinke 6.

The Knights are now 10-2, The Warriors drop to 6-4
