The Underwood Rockets held a 38-16 halftime lead over Sebeka on their home court Thursday night and went on to finish with a 62-49 victory over the Trojans.

“We played an excellent first half, showing patience on offense and good defense, holding Sebeka to just 16 points,” noted Underwood Head Coach Kellen Shebeck.  “We struggled in the second half with our patience and our shots weren’t falling, but we continued to work hard and were able to come away with the win.  I’m proud of our guys and their continued improvement!”

Cole Peterson’s double-double (15 points, 11 rebounds) led the Rockets.  Freshmen Hudson Risbrudt and Owen Harig each had 11 points and freshman Evan Lundgren added 10.  A fourth freshman, Kaleb Hammes, had 7 points and 3 steals.

Underwood (2-11) snapped an eight game losing streak with the victory.  They will travel to Barrett for an afternoon contest on Saturday.

Sebeka, winless in 11 games this season, will host Verndale next Tuesday night.
