The Henning boys’ basketball team was led by Tanner Arndt’s 26 points on Saturday in Perham as the Hornets defeated the Hawley Nuggets by the score of 67-59 at the Crossover Classic.

Arndt completed a double-double with 11 rebounds and also dished out 4 assists. Calvin Stueve added 14 points and Tyson Misegades finished with 13 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists.  Mason Hammer also distributed 5 assists for the Hornets.  Henning shot 50% (26-52) from the field.

"This was a great win for our team," said Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades.  "Hawley is very talented and they present a lot of challenges on both ends of the floor. Our guys fought and battled all night and held on down the stretch."

Brevin Stoa led the Nuggets with 21 points and Sam Senske contributed 17.

“Tonight was a really good challenge for our boys,” stated Hawley Head Coach Nathan Stoa. “Henning is a very good team that plays hard, shoots it well, and is very well coached. We committed too many turnovers in our first half that they turned into a 7 point half time lead. Our boys responded well and cut the lead to 3 multiple times but just couldn’t quite get over the edge.”

Henning (11-1) will go on the road to face Lake Park-Audubon on Tuesday and will host Menahga on Thursday.

Hawley (8-2) lost their second in a row.  They will entertain DGF in a Heart O’ Lakes Conference contest on Tuesday and will return to Perham to face the Yellowjackets on Friday night in another HOL game.
