Alexandria Boys Win Every Event in CLC Meet with Willmar

Alexandria won every event in the CLC conference meet on the way to a 109-70 victory over Willmar to continue to remain undefeated. This meet allowed the team to swim a different lineup than usual, allowing the swimmers to display their versatility in many different events. Relays were adjusted so the teams from Alexandria would race each other, so setting up some great competitions within the team.

The winning 200 medley relay team of Mark Meece, Logan Tung, Cooper Running, and Zachary Timm touched out the Alexandria relay team of Eric Peterson, Joel Brault, Adi Newman, and Carter Holm to place 1-2 in the event. Nicolas Welle won the event with Eric Peterson in third with a lifetime best time. Zach Timm finished in fourth place with a lifetime best time as well. Eli Biggers swam a lifetime best in the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle. Anthony Hoyt won the 200 IM with a lifetime best time and Erik Reineke placed second after dropping four seconds from his previous best time. Carter Holm won the 50 freestyle and Cooper Running placed fourth. Kyler Kavanagh squeaked out a win in diving and Caden Kavanagh placed third; Keaton Snitker placed fourth. Logan Tung won the 100 butterfly, and Anthony Hoyt placed second, both with lifetime best times. Welle won the 100 freestyle with Eric Peterson in third place. Cooper Running, a freshman, won his first varsity event in the 500 freestyle, with Zach Timm in third and Mark Meece in fourth with lifetime best times. The 200 freestyle relay team of Erik Reineke, Cooper Running, Logan Tung and Anthony Hoyt won the event, followed by the relay team of Welle, Biggers, Crowser and Holm. Erik Reineke jumped back into the pool to win the 100 backstroke, with a lifetime best time by 8 seconds. Andrew Crowser placed third and seventh grader Keaton Dummer placed fourth. Alexandria chose not to score points in the last two events, the 100 breaststroke and the 400 freestyle relay.

Next up for the team is the Section True Team Meet at home on Saturday. Diving begins at 11:00 AM and swimming starts at 2:00 PM.
