The Ashby Arrows Boys Basketball Team rallied to claim a 45-40 Little Eight Conference victory over the Parkers Prairie Panthers on Thursday night. Hunter Norby made two free throws with less than a minute to play to give the Arrows their first lead in the game at 41-40.  The Panthers led at halftime 22-18.

Jacob Cook led all scorers with 21 points.  Torin Olson was the only other Arrow to reach double figures netting 11.  Cook also grabbed 14 rebounds to record another one of several double doubles he's achieved this season.

The Panthers also had two in double figures with Mason Arens and Cole Koep scoring 14 and 11, respectively.

“Coach Johnson had a defensive game plan the Panthers executed magnificently,” observed Ashby Head Coach John Holsten.  “We received some good minutes off the bench from Carter Spangler, Brodie Ecker, Matson Hoff, and Sam Sorenson.  Each one contributed winning plays instrumental in the victory.  Carson Spangler played every possession of the game and has become the glue guy of our team.”

With the win the Arrows improve their overall record to 9-1 and 3-0 in conference.  Next up for the Arrows is a trip to Rothsay Tuesday night January 18.

Parkers Prairie (5-5) will travel to play Brandon-Evansville on Tuesday night.
