Welle finished first in two individual events and was a member on two winning relay teams on Saturday at West Fargo as the Cardinals won the North Dakota/Minnesota Border Battle with 384 points, twelve in front of running-up Fargo Davies.

The Cardinals started the meet with a win in the 200 Medley Relay (1:59.35) with Welle being joined by Eric Peterson, Logan Tung and Carter Holm.  Welle then won the 50 freestyle (21.46) and the 100 butterfly (53.94) before swimming on the first place 200 Freestyle Relay team (1:30.24) with Tung, Erik Reineke and Holm.
