Cook and Norby Record Double-Doubles to Lead Ashby to 7th Win

The Ashby Boys Basketball Team relied on aggressive half-court defense in the first half to turn back the Bertha-Hewitt Bears 62-33.  The half ended with the Arrows holding a 38-14 advantage.

Three Arrows reached double figures.  Jacob Cook led all scorers with 21 points.  Hunter Norby was next with 17 and Torin Olson contributed a dozen.  Norby and Cook both recorded double-doubles grabbing 13 and 11 boards respectively.  The Arrows shot 44% (27/61) from the field and chased down 42 rebounds.

Other individual stat lines include Carson Spangler (2 pts, 1 reb, 1 ast, 4 stl), Carter Spangler (4 reb, 1 blk), Brodie Ecker (2 pts, 3 reb, 1 ast), Jackson Finkelson (2 pts, 2 reb), Matson Hoff, (1 reb),  Sam Sorenson (4 pts, 2 reb, 1 ast), Sam Heeter (1 ast, 1 reb), Evan Paulson (2pts). 

“Carson Spangler continues to set the tone for the defense by applying outstanding pressure on the ball,” noted Head Coach John Holsten of the Arrows.

With the victory the Arrows overall record improves to 7-1.  Monday night the Arrows travel to Swanville to take on the Bulldogs.
