Alexandria Boys Score First 4 Goals in 5-2 Win Over Fergus Falls

The Alexandria boys’ hockey team scored the first four goals of the night on Thursday as they registered a 5-2 win over the Otters at the Fergus Falls Community Arena.  Alexandria had a 38-22 advantage in shots on goal.

The Cardinals scored at 3:09 of the first period when Nicholas Peterson found the back of the net off assists from Leo Kompelien and Joe Lamski.

Pieter Mulder’s goal at 3:11 was assisted by Josiah Gronholz and Tyler Kludt.  Twenty-eight seconds later Peterson notched his second of the night from Lamski and Kompelien.  At 12:34 Kludt’s goal from Gronholz and Mulder gave the Cardinals a 4-0 lead.  The Otters got a goal at 16:04 from Michael DeBrito with assists going to Kellen Stenstrom and Landon Thacker.

At 11:26 of the third period Peterson completed his hat trick with Kompelien and Lamski once again assisting.  The Otters got the final goal of the game on the power play as Cole Zierden scored from Isaac Johnson and DeBrito.

Ben Swanson made 33 saves in the Fergus Falls net and Alexandria goaltender Teagan Pfeffer stopped 20 shots.

Alexandria (6-3-1) will play at Bemidji on Saturday afternoon.

Fergus Falls (9-4) will try to snap a two game losing skid when they host Warroad on Friday night.
