Ashby Boys Improve to 6-1 with Win Over Underwood

The Ashby Arrows Boys Basketball Team defeated the Underwood Rockets 74-31 on Thursday night.  The Arrows held a 32-13 lead at halftime.

Three Arrows scored in double figures.  Jacob Cook led all scorers with 26 points.  Torin Olson finished with 12 points and Hunter Norby added 10.  Carson Spangler dished out 7 assists to lead the Arrows.  Other contributions for the Arrows came from Carter Spangler (3 ast, 2 stl, 2 reb, 1 blk), Brodie Ecker (4 pts, 1 ast, 2 stl, 3 reb), Jackson Finkelson (2 pts, 1 ast, 1 stl, 1 reb, 1 blk), Bradee Christianson (2 pts, 1 stl, 1 blk), Matson Hoff (6 pts, 1 ast, 3 reb), Sam Sorenson (4 pts, 1 ast, 4 reb), Easton Nelson (2 pts, 1 ast), Evan Paulson (6 pts, 1 reb) and Robert Nelson ( 2 ast). The Arrows shot 54% (34/63) from the field and gathered 33 rebounds.

“Our defense triggered our offense,” reported Ashby Head Coach John Holsten.  “We turned some Rocket turnovers into fast break layups.  The Rockets do the first thing that any team must do if they're going to improve.  They really compete every possession.” 

The Arrows Little Eight Conference record now stands at 2-0.  They are 6-1 overall.  They travel to Bertha Friday night to take on the Bertha-Hewitt Bears.

Underwood (1-7) will host Brandon-Evansville on Friday night.
