Lakers Score Final 4 Goals in 6-3 Win Over Otter Boys

Detroit Lakes scored the final four goals of the game on Thursday as the Lakers defeated Fergus Falls 6-3 in the Otters Holiday Hockey Tournament championship game.  The Lakers held a 28-19 edge in shots on goal.

Kellen Stenstrom tallied an unassisted goal at 1:09 of the first period to give Fergus Falls a 1-0 lead.

Twenty-eight seconds into the second period Andrew Johnson netted a goal from Michael DeBrito for a 2-0 Otter lead.  An unassisted goal by the Lakers Cole Larson at 1:05 of the period cut the lead in half and a C. Bellefeuille goal at 12:28 was assisted by Larson, tying the game at 2-2.  Thirteen seconds later Fergus Falls regained the lead on a goal by Cole Wentworth, assisted by DeBrito and Carter Thielke.  DL pulled even at 3-3 when Riley Engum scored from Larson and Spencer Bergman with just three seconds left in the second.

The third period belonged to the Lakers with Beau Boehne and Spencer Bergman scoring unassisted goals and Boehne finishing the scoring with an assist from Jordan Fields at 14:06.

Elijah Blow stopped 16 Fergus Falls shots.

Ben Swanson had 22 saves in the Otter net.
