“Coming off of a long layoff between games, we knew we’d be a little rusty tonight as we get back into game shape after the break,” commented Pelican Rapids Head Coach John Gullingsrud. “We had our ups and downs but played with pretty good effort overall which was nice to see. We had a big 19-2 run midway through the second half that really allowed us to pull away for the win.”
Ian Fahje scored 17 points to pace three Vikings in double digits. Timmy Guler and Brayden Ecker added 13 and 11 points, respectively.
Leaders for battle Lake were Jack Mekalson with 14 and Owen Buehler with 13.
The Vikings will now face West Central Area in the championship game at 7:45pm Thursday.
Battle Lake (1-4) will go up against Underwood at 2:30 Thursday afternoon for third place.
