The Breckenridge Cowboys survived double overtime and took a thrilling 67-66 win over Battle Lake on Tuesday night in Breckenridge.

Drew Johnson scored 22 points for Battle Lake, including a 3 at the buzzer to tie the game at 51 at the end of regulation time.  Johnson had four 3’s on the night.  Noah Mansker led the Battlers with 23 points and Owen Buehler added 15.

Gavin Pederson got fouled on his three point attempt at the end of the first OT and made all three foul shots with no time left to send the game to a second overtime.

A free throw by Dylan Bernotas late in the second overtime gave the Cowboys a 3-point lead.  Johnson was short on a 3-point field goal attempt for Battle Lake, but Mansker laid the rebound in for two points at the horn, leaving the visitors one point shy.

Breckenridge had three players in double figures, led by Gavin Snyder with 19, 7 of which came in the two overtime sessions, Bernotas with 14 and Jack Johnson with 13.

The win was the first in six games for Breckenridge.  They will participate in a Holiday Tournament at Moorhead on December 29 and 30.

Battle Lake (1-3) will be playing in the Pelican Rapids Tournament on December 28 and 29.
