The Henning Hornets played host to the Battle Lake boys' basketball team on Saturday afternoon and the host team led 30-19 at halftime on the way to a 64-47 victory over the visiting Battlers.

Henning has won its first seven games of the season.  They hit ten 3's in the game on Saturday afternoon, led by four from eighth-grader Kale Misegades who led them with 20 points.  He also went 6-for-6 from the free throw line.  Tanner Arndt joined him in double figures with 18, 13 of which came in the second half.  Carter Dilly added 8 points off the bench.

Owen Buehler finished with a team high 14 points for Battle Lake and Drew Johnson contributed 10 points.  Jack Mekalson finished with 9.

"We were able to struggle through this game and come away with our third victory of the week," commented Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades.  "We didn’t bring our best effort today. I give Battle Lake a lot of credit.  They played harder than we did for stretches in this game.  We’ve got some growing up to do in terms of a consistent effort from all of our guys."

Henning will play at Parkers Prairie on Tuesday and Battle Lake is at Breckenridge.
