Otters Score 7 Goals in Win at TRF

Fergus Falls blasted Thief River Falls 7-1 in girls’ hockey on Tuesday night.  The Otters struck for three goals in the first period, added one in the second and finished with three in the final period of play.  Ana Jyrkas stopped 12-of-13 shots in the Otter goal.

Piper Andrews notched the first goal for the Otters, unassisted and then assisted on a goal by Gabby BrimhallRylynn Krein’s goal from Maddie Hulter and Hannah Johnson gave the Otters a 3-0 lead after one period of play.

In the second period, Andrews scored from Tyra Skjeret and Jadyn Bye and the Otters led 4-0 at the second intermission.

The third period saw Skjeret score from Hope Goepferd and Skye Norgren, Brimhal scoring her second goal of the game with assists from Andrews and Skjeret, and Hulter finishing the scoring from Johnson and Krein.

“Brimhall had a nice offensive night with two lasers the goalie never saw,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Tim Lill.  “Skjeret with 3 points, her line is relentless on the forecheck.”

The Otters are now 6-1 and will travel to Sartell on Thursday for a Central Lakes Conference matchup with Sartell/Sauk Rapids.
