Andrews Reaches 100 Career Points with Hat Trick as Otters Top EGF

Piper Andrews reached 100 career points as she registered a hat trick to lead the Fergus Falls girls’ hockey team to a 5-2 win over East Grand Forks on Thursday night at the Community Arena in Fergus Falls.

Andrews scored a power play goal from Maddie Hulter to get the Otters off to a 1-0 lead 6:39 into the game.  At 13:25 Hannah Johnson scored from Hulter and Hope Goepferd, giving the Otters a 2-0 lead.  A goal by Talia Nelson made it 3-0 with less than 30 seconds remaining in the opening period.  Assists went to Goepferd and Desirae Maack.

Andrews scored from Jadyn Bye and Gabby Brimhall at 5:18 of the second period and the Otters had a commanding 4-0 lead.  East Grand Forks then scored on the power play with Aleah Oshie scoring from Blake Schultz and Kendra Emery.  Andrews completed her hat trick at 12:08 of the period.  Her goal was assisted by Bye.

The Greenwave finished the scoring when Emery converted a pass from Oshie with 1:57 left in the game.

Ana Jyrkas stopped 16 of 18 shots on goal in the Otter net and Fergus Falls put 34 shots on the Greenwave net.
