Nine Point Night by Reagan Wohlers Leads Blades to 12-4 Victory

The Breckenridge-Wahpeton girls’ hockey team put 63 shots on goal Tuesday in their 12-4 victory over Morris/Benson Area.  The Blades led 4-2 after one period, 9-3 after two periods and added 3 third period goals.

Breckenridge-Wahpeton scored the first three goals of the game with Alison Hoerer scoring from Riley Finkral and Britta Pausch at 5:13 of the opening period.  At 9:43 Kennedy Schuler made it 2-0 on a goal assisted by Reagan Wohlers and Anabel PauschKarsyn Neppl made it 3-0 with a goal at 10:05, assisted by Hoerer and Finkral.  Morris/Benson got on the board with an unassisted goal from Taryn Bent at 10:46.  Twenty-seven seconds later Anabel Pausch scored from Schuler and Wohlers to make it 4-1.  Morris/Benson Area cut the lead to 4-2 when Karlie Bruns scored a power play goal from Bent and Kortney Sarmasak at 13:37.

The Blades scored five of the six second period goals, starting with an unassisted power play by Wohlers at 9:48.  Schuler’s goal at 11:20 was assisted by Ivy Ovsak and Wohlers.  The same two assisted on a goal by Addie Rugland at 14:16.  Eleven seconds later Finkral found the back of the net from Britta Pausch.   Bent notched the third goal of the game for Morris/Benson Area at 14:49 with Bruns assisting.  Wohlers scored from Rugland to end the scoring in the period at 16:40 and the Blades took a 9-3 advantage into the third period.

Ovsak got the third period scoring started with assists from Rugland and Wohlers at 2:44.  Wohlers completed her hat trick with a goal setup by Ashlyn Wohlers at 11:03.  At 15:08 Morris/Benson Area finished the scoring with an unassisted tally by Bruns.  Reagan Wohlers completed the scoring at 16:50 with assists from Schuler and Anabel Pausch.

Reagan Wohlers led the Blades with a nine point night (4 goals, 5 assists).  Schuler finished with two goals and two assists, while Ovsak, Rugland, Finkral and Anabel Pausch each had a goal and two assists.

Breckenridge-Wahpeton goaltender Kolle Schuler stopped 11 of the 15 shots she faced.
