Senior Piper Andrews scored the only goal of the game, unassisted, two minutes into the first period on Tuesday night to carry the Fergus Falls girls’ hockey team to a 1-0 shutout win over River Lakes in Paynesville.

Ana Jyrkas had 22 saves in the Otter net to earn the shutout.

“Choppy battle tonight,” commented Fergus Falls Head Coach Tim Lill.  “We couldn’t get any offensive flow, but our fore check wore them out.  Excellent defensive effort from the entire team.”

The Otters (4-1) will host East Grand Forks on Thursday night.
