O'Kane Stops 34 Moorhead Shots in 2-1 Alexandria Victory

After a scoreless first period on Tuesday night at the Runestone Community Center, the Alexandria girls’ hockey team struck for a pair of second period goals to take a 2-0 lead over the Moorhead Spuds.  Moorhead scored a goal at the 12:52 mark of the period to cut the lead to 2-1 and the two teams were scoreless the rest of the night.

Riley Nyberg notched an unassisted goal just 1:04 into period number two and Ella Westlund tallied the Cardinals second goal at 4:51 with assists from Hanley Block and Emma Ramstorf.

Moorhead’s lone goal was scored from Bria Holm, with assists going to Kellsey Kludt and Elle Lebahn.

Jordan O’Kane was sharp in goal, stopping 34 of 35 Moorhead shots.  Taylor Kressin was able to turn aside 27-of-29 Alexandria shots in the Moorhead net.
