The Fergus Falls girls’ hockey team finished last season with a 10-9-1 record.  Head Coach Tim Lill remains optimistic as the 2021-22 season begins saying, “We return four defensemen and we should be three lines strong this season.”  Nine returning letter winners will form the nucleus for the Otters this season, led by senior captains Gabby Brimhall (D), Hope Goepferd (D) and Piper Andrews (F).

Other returning players include seniors Talia Nelson (F), Lizzie Moxness (F), Marilyn Karsnia (D), Jadyn Bye (F) and Desirae Maack (F), along with juniors Skye Norgren (D) and Maddie Hulter (F).  Sophomore Annika Jyrkas returns in goal for the Otters.

Junior Tyra Skjeret (F), sophomores Ella Starzl (D), Rylynn Krein (F), Vanessa Vaughn (F) and McKenzie Sjolie (F), and eighth-graders Hannah Johnson (F), Rachel DeBrito (F), Brook Zierden (D), Ella Sem (G) and Olivia Jurgens (G) will also be competing for varsity ice time.

Lill will be assisted by Todd Hershner, Nikki Kaasa and Brooks Andersen.

Competition will be stiff in the Central Lakes Conference and Section 6A with Lill pointing to Willmar and River Lakes as the Section favorites.  Joining them as top teams in the CLC are Brainerd, Alexandria, St. Cloud and Sartell/Sauk Rapids.
