Tanner Arndt scored on a one yard run in the first quarter and Owen Buehler scored the two-point conversion to give the top-seeded Ottertail Central Bulldogs an early 8-0 lead in the Section 6A semifinals against Breckenridge on Saturday afternoon in Battle Lake.  After that, the Cowboys blanked the Bulldogs the rest of the way and came back to record an impressive 26-8 win, sending them to the Fargodome to face New York Mills at 5:30pm Friday in the Section 6A championship game.

OTC struggled against the Breckenridge defense when it came to sustaining drives as they converted only 2-of-12 third down opportunities and 2-of-7 fourth down opportunities in the game, recording only 9 first downs.  The Bulldogs were held to 207 total yards (35 passing, 172 rushing) on the day and turned the ball over 3 times.  They were also penalized 7 times for 88 yards.

Mason Hammer (13 carries, 62 yards) and Arndt (12 carries, 60 yards) were the rushing leaders for the Bulldogs.  Arndt completed 5-of-12 passes for 35 yards.  Hammer had 2 receptions for 11 yards to lead the receivers.  Calvin Stueve recovered a fumble on defense.

Breckenridge compiled 263 yards of total offense, all of it on the ground.  The Cowboys were led by Cam Nieto with 247 yards on 25 carries.  Nieto scored all four Breckenridge touchdowns, including a 45 yard run in the second quarter to get them on the scoreboard.  Bailey Evans went 2-for-2 on extra-point kicks.  Defensive leaders were Dallen Ernst (6 solo tackles, 8 assisted tackles, forced fumble), Gavin Snyder (Interception, forced fumble, fumble recovery) and Landon Blaufuss (fumble recovery).

Ottertail Central finishes their season with a 9-1 record.
